Google PR stands for PageRank, not for Public Relation. Google PageRank is the most commonly discussed topic when it comes to SEM or Search Engine Marketing. If you’re a Filipino virtual assistant for SEO I am sure you know this already. Google PageRank in a nutshell can be considered as a quality votes for a website or a blog. The more votes you have, the higher PageRank you’ll get and of course the more important your site is.
Here’s what Google themselves say about PageRank, read the following:
“PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page’s value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at considerably more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; for example, it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves ‘important’ weigh more heavily and help to make other pages ‘important.’ Using these and other factors, Google provides its views on pages’ relative importance.”Basically, a PageRank is an algorithm that reviews and then assigns a weight value for the elements of your content. PageRank is probably the most important factor in getting loads of free traffic to your website or your blog.
Google assigns each page, (not only your main domain URL) a numerical value from 0 to 10 based on numerous factors, most of which are not publicized by bloggers, webmasters or even Google. The higher your web pages PR value the more “authority” you have with Google.
I also looked for an image that will explain what exactly a PageRank is and I found the image below. The image below shows PageRank and the level of efforts to reach each level. As you can see from the diagram the level of efforts involved to increase your PageRank grows with each new level.

Be reminded that Google places a lot of important on your PageRank simply because when people research, most of the clicks generated from search engines are come from the first page of results. Here's the deal, if your website ranks is in the top ten search results you will be 90% more likely to get click than if your page was ranked lower on the second or third result page. People searching on the internet tend to stay within the first page of results so if your site is not listed in one of those positions, you will not see any good results.
A lot of website and many blogger are now offering variety of helpful information about PageRank and how to increase it. Google it and you will find one. I also found that majority of their advise for you to increase you PR is to create a good and quality contents that are with relevance to your blog main topic. This will always bring higher ranking naturally.
